About Us

Kayde Sue Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to shining a light on awareness for suicide prevention through school programs and community events. Erasing the stigma surrounding suicide and its causes, to encourage those suffering from mental illness to seek treatment.

We know from our own experience of losing our dear Kayde Sue to suicide, that Mental Health is essential. Kayde was a sophomore at Borden High School, Varsity Athlete, National Honor Society inductee, and such a light in this world that cared about many people and was loved by even more. We have been forever changed by her loss and will continue to miss her deeply every day of our lives.

KSF's #1 goal since our inception in 2019 is to raise awareness of the serious threat mental illness can pose and the treatment options that can help people overcome it. If one person can be saved, and their families spared the literal heartbreak we have experienced, then we have made a difference.

Since 2019 we have awarded $145,000 in high school scholarships, facilitated Mental Health & Suicide Awareness programs in numerous schools, financially paid for counseling for those with the inability to pay, and support families affected by suicide through funding funerals and counseling.

ABOUT US >

On March 12, 2019 our family endured a loss like no other. Kayde Sue Faulkenburg, just 4 months shy of her 16th birthday, took her own life. Kayde was a lot of things to a lot of people but the best word to describe her is a "giver". The Kayde Sue Foundation was created to be a contributor to the community. We are a 501c3 Non-Profit organization who, like Kayde, is dedicated to being a "giver". Our fundraisers will go towards Scholarships, Mental Health & Suicide Awareness programs in local schools and communities, counseling for the uninsured or those unable to afford a copay, and assist families affected by suicide.
